OCTOBER 5 (11-3)

October 5th, 1940. Tennessee entertains Duke. The Blue Devils went unbeaten and unscored upon in 1938; the Volunteers did it in 1939. This match-up was so big that both CBS and NBC were on hand. Bobby Foxx, who had made the transition from wing back to tailback tosses a touchdown pass to Al Hust and gets the other score himself. Duke never poses a serious threat as the Volunteers win 13-0.
