The Sports Animal put on its third annual hotdog eating contest Wednesday morning and for the second time, The Starting Lineup’s Will West finished on top.
West, who also took home the gold in the summer of 2017, narrowly edged out reigning champ Eric Cain [Cainer] by a dog and three-quarter bun for a total of 8 3/4 hot dogs. Cain finished with eight complete hot dogs while Andy Sellers [Bad Take Andy] put down seven. Others in the contest included Tyler Ivens, who finished with 6 1/2 dogs, and Colin Castleberry [TBA Taco], who was just happy to be there.
As always, Joel Silverberg called all the action on FM 99.1 / AM 990 and Facebook
Assisting Silverberg with the color commentary was Brian Rice of The Erik Ainge Show. Rice, a former competitor, was rocking a solid maroon blazer in honor of the fourth.
The hotdog eating contest this year could not have been possible without our friends at Food City – so a special thanks to them.
Though it may be disturbing at times, sit back and enjoy these guys ruining the rest of their days by devouring hot dogs at 8 in the morning.
Happy Fourth of July from all of us at The Sports Animal!
