Knoxville, TN (April 11, 2019) — A new date and new day for the Knoxville Open; the Web.com TOUR’s “Path to the PGA TOUR”. This year marks the 30th consecutive year in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Knoxville Open will be held at Fox Den Country Club May 13th through May 19th.

Going back to the Knoxville Open’s roots; the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley will be the charitable beneficiary of the tournament. This provides an opportunity for the Knoxville Open to give back to the community who has supported it for nearly 30 years. It also provides the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley the ability to continue their world-class club experiences that puts success within reach of every young person who walks through their doors.

The Knoxville Open is proud to be one of the 27 events on the Web.com Tour, which is a tour owned and operated by the PGA TOUR. The Web.com Tour identifies those player who are ready to compete and win on golf’s biggest stage. As the official proving ground of the PGA TOUR, players compete in a season-long chase for 50 available PGA TOUR cards. The tour starts at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay in January and runs through the Albertson Boise Open presented by Kraft Nabisco in August, before giving way to the Web.com Tour Finals, which will culminate with the season-ending Web.com Tour Championship in Newburgh, Indiana.

This year’s schedule will be tighter than in years past (27 events in just 35 weeks) with a focus on geographical efficiencies. “The new schedule will allow for a more natural cadence and an earlier finish to the season that will enhance the visibility of the Web.com Tour Finals,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan in September.

And unlike in years past, the 2019 Web.com Tour schedule will not feature a break through the summer. Trophies will be raised every Sunday from April 28 onwards.
