It is time for some SEC football predictions, as I do each week on SportsRadioWNML.com here on my blog, Vince’s View, which is driven by Oak Ridge Nissan.

As I say each year, the point spreads are simply as a gauge of favorites with straight-up winners, not picked against the spread.

2018 Week 5 Prediction Record: 6-2
Season Prediction Record: 44-9 (83%)

Week 6 – SEC Football Schedule

SATURDAY, OCT. 6
#1 Alabama (5-0, 2-0 SEC) at Arkansas (1-4, 0-2 SEC)
Series: ALA leads, 18-8
Noon ET • ESPN
Last: UA, 41-9 (2017 at Tuscaloosa)
Fayetteville, Ark. • Reynolds Razorback Stadium (72,000)
Sirius: 135/105 • XM: 210/190
Line: Alabama -35
Vince’s View: Despite a competitive, improved game by Arkansas against Texas A&M last week, obviously Bama is on a whole other level.
Score Prediction: Alabama 52 Arkansas 14

Missouri (3-1, 0-1 SEC) at South Carolina (2-2, 1-2 SEC)
Series: Tied, 4-4
Noon ET • SEC Network
Last: SC, 31-13 (2017 at Columbia, Mo.)
Columbia, S.C. • Williams-Brice Stadium (80,250)
Sirius: 136/103 • XM: 192/191
Line: Missouri -1 ½
Vince’s View: It doesn’t look like Jake Bentley will be able to start for South Carolina, still ailing from the leg injury he suffered late in the loss last week at Kentucky. SC is my most disappointing team. Now you take their talented QB out of the line-up. It will be tough for the Gamecocks to keep-up with Missouri’s offense and QB Drew Lock.
Score Prediction: Missouri 28 South Carolina 17

#5 LSU (5-0, 2-0 SEC) at #22 Florida (4-1, 2-1 SEC)
Series: UF leads, 32-29-3
3:30 p.m. ET • CBS
Last: LSU, 17-16 (2017 at Baton Rouge)
Gainesville, Fla. • Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Steve Spurrier-Florida Field (88,548)
Sirius: 135/105 • XM: 210/190
Line: LSU -2
Vince’s View: Joe Burrow is coming off of his best game last week in the rout of Ole Miss. He will be challenged by UF’s D that’s closer to 100%. I think the difference is LSU’s running game getting the tough yards to move the chains. Brossette and Edwards-Helaire are 3rd & 5th in the SEC in “impact” plays that result in either a first down or touchdown. Tigers are better, home or road.
Score Prediction: LSU 27 Florida 16

Louisiana-Monroe (2-3) at Ole Miss (3-2, 0-2 SEC)
Series: UM leads, 3-0
4 p.m. ET • SEC Network
Oxford, Miss. • Vaught-Hemingway Stadium (64,038)
Sirius: 103 • XM: 191
Line: Ole Miss -22 ½
Vince’s View: Ole Miss is getting beat-up by the elite teams in the league, so the Rebels need an opponent like this to get back on track, at least on offense.
Score Prediction: Ole Miss 45 Louisiana-Monroe 21

Kentucky (5-0, 3-0 SEC) at Texas A&M (3-2, 1-1 SEC)
Series: Tied, 1-1
7 p.m. ET • ESPN
Last: TAMU 7-6 (1953 at Lexington)
College Station, Texas • Kyle Field (102,733)
Sirius: 135/105 • XM: 210/190
Line: Texas A&M -5 ½
Vince’s View: I think Kentucky’s style of play can travel and have success on the road. A&M’s offensive line has really struggled. We’ve seen stud Josh Allen and his mates get after QBs all season. I don’t think Kellen Mond has looked any better since the start of the year. Even though I was late to the ‘Cats, party, I think they go to 6-0.
Score Prediction: Kentucky 26 Texas A&M 20

#8 Auburn (4-1, 1-1 SEC) at Mississippi State (3-2, 0-2 SEC)
Series: AU leads, 63-26-2
7:30 p.m. ET • ESPN2
Last: AU, 49-10 (2017 at Auburn)
Starkville, Miss. • Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field (61,337)
Sirius: 84/103 • XM: 84/191
Line: Auburn -3 ½
Vince’s View: Mississippi State has been very disappointing on many levels. Nick Fitzgerald has been a shell of his former self. The Bulldogs run game disappeared. Even Bob Shoop’s defense has been exposed at key moments and at the line of scrimmage. Auburn’s offense has struggled also, especially on the offensive line. Auburn has more ways to win with that great defense.
Score Prediction: Auburn 20 Mississippi State 10

Vanderbilt (3-2, 0-1 SEC) at #2 Georgia (5-0, 3-0 SEC)
Series: UGA leads, 56-20-2
7:30 p.m. ET • SEC Network
Last: UGA, 45-14 (2017 at Nashville)
Athens, Ga. • Sanford Stadium (92,746)
Sirius: 136/81 • XM: 192/81
Line: Georgia -26 ½
Vince’s View: What happened to the early season confident and competent Commodores? This has the smell of a Georgia get-right game and a 2017 Alabama game-like destruction. UGA needs to show improvement on defense and overall focus.
Score Prediction: Georgia 49 Vanderbilt 7

Open Date: Tennessee (2-3, 0-2 SEC)
