Former Tennessee defensive lineman Malik Jackson has always done a lot in his NFL communities. We take a look into that in today’s “Vince View” blog.
Jackson is a multiple-time Walter Payton Man of the Year and Salute to Service nominee in the NFL for two different teams, including in 2017 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was worked hard to help provide for military families in need in Denver and now in Jacksonville. He also has a foundation to help find homes for pets. He talked about that in an interview we did with him in the Fall, which you can hear below.
Here’s what Jackson is doing next in Jacksonville via a release from the Jaguars PR Department.
Jaguars DT Malik Jackson will host a football camp for local kids from the First Coast military community at the Dream Finders Home Flex Field at Daily’s Place. More than 100 military and Gold Star children have been preselected by Survivor Outreach Services, the Florida National Guard Child and Youth Program and the Jaguars Foundation to participate. Media are invited to attend the two-hour camp, which will include opening remarks by Jackson in addition to appearances by his Jaguars teammates and local high school coaches, who will assist with football fundamentals training.

Jackson is entering his seventh season in the NFL. He was a 5th-round draft pick of the Denver Broncos in 2012. He played four seasons in Denver, winning a Super Bowl with the Broncos and scoring a touchdown in that Super Bowl win. Jackson has spent the last two season with Jacksonville, helping their resurgence that was capped off by a trip to the AFC Championship Game in 2017. Jackson laso earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl last season.
In December, John Wilkerson & I had a chance to visit with Malik to talk about the great season he and the Jaguars were having, sharing insight on his time in the NFL, his candidacy for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, his thoughts on UT football and much more . It was so much fun to visit with “The Mayor of Sacksonville” that I thought it was worth it to share again and revisit it. Listen to that entire entertaining interview here.
