The South Point sports book in Las Vegas has released point spreads for the opening weekend of the upcoming college football season.

Tennessee is favored to beat Georgia Tech by three points when the two teams meet in Atlanta on Sept. 4, according to South Point.

The line might seem low to Tennessee fans considering the Vols have won 18 games over the last two seasons while Georgia Tech has won 12 games during that time.

Tennessee has experienced non-conference success in recent years under head coach Butch Jones, who is 3-0 in bowl games as the Vols’ coach. Tennessee also beat Virginia Tech 45-24 last season in Bristol.

Still, Tennessee has to replace several key players from last year’s team, including defensive end Derek Barnett, quarterback Josh Dobbs and cornerback Cam Sutton.

Georgia Tech will return 16 starters from last year’s team, which beat Georgia and Kentucky from the SEC. That recent success has helped create plenty of confidence for Georgia Tech.

There’s still 101 days to go until Georgia Tech and Tennessee kickoff, which means there will be plenty of time for the teams to prepare and opinions to change on what will happen on Sept. 4.
